Ace Elsea set to run 100th half marathon

Roundtown class gets new leadership

Ace Elsea, Chairman of the Board at Elsea Incorporated, is scheduled to run his 100th half marathon at the age of 76. He said, “I started running in high school, then with this type of running when I was 45-50.”

Elsea is also chairmen of the Circleville Alumni Association committee that organizes the “Roundtown Classic” that we wrote about last month. He noted, “This is the tenth year, and I’m retiring. Carrie Patrick Ditty is the new director for next year.” He graduated Circleville High School in 1959, and Bowling Green State University in 1964, where he plans to run his 100th half marathon in September.

Elsea feels The Roundtown Classic is in good hands with the new director, Carrie Patrick Ditty. Ditty said, “Over the years I’ve worked for different races (Vegas Marathon, LA Marathon, Chicago Half, Columbus Marathon and Fat Rabbit Racing). And now I’m a Sales Rep for Brooks (running shoes and apparel). I have the experience and wanted to help out the alumni association.”
