Circleville Woman to Represent U.S. at World Dirt Bike Competition

Becca Sheets will head to Chile in November.

When it comes to racing dirt bikes, there are fewer bigger names in women’s racing than Circleville resident Becca Sheets. Becca races in Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA). The 13-event series travels across the country from New York to Florida and hosts the nation’s premiere ATV and dirt bike riders.

According to an interview with GNCC, Becca has been racing since she was seven years-old and have seen much success in her tenure. Since 2012, she has finished in the top three of the Women’s Cross Country (WXC) Class every year including the overall top placement in 2016. The top placement also helped her recieve the AMA Female Racer of the Year in 2016.

In 2017, Becca was invited to participate in the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) for team United States. The event which was held in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France, is one of the oldest off-road motorcycle events in existence. It takes riders on a six day journey that encompasses over 1,200 miles. Of the nine teams that participated, Becca and Team USA were edged out by five-time champion Australia to finish second overall.

Announced on May 29 by the American Motorcyclist Association, Becca was once again invited to participate in the ISDE. This year the event will be held in Vina Del Mar, Chile in November 2018.
