With Mother’s Day quickly approaching you should be thinking about where to take the special woman in your life. Your mother, daughter, aunt, grandmother, godmother, friend, or mentor deserves a nice meal and there are several nice restaurant choices close to home; no need to travel far! Here are a few local spots that give you some variety:

1. Gibby’s Eatery and Sports Bar

At Gibby’s Eatery and Sports Bar located in the heart of downtown Circleville at 126 West Main Street, you can find anything from amazing burgers, pizza, subs, wings, steak, and much more including a full bar. My favorite things are their grilled cheese and any of their burgers; you can’t go wrong! The atmosphere at Gibby’s is casual, laid back, and fun, so no need for a black tie here! They also have gift cards available for purchase. Gibby’s is open Monday through Thursday 11am – 9pm, Friday and Saturday 11am – 10pm, and Sunday 11:30am – 9pm.

2. El Palomar

If you are searching for something south of the border, then El Palomar is the place for you! Located at 1412 Circleville Plaza Drive (in the strip connected to Wal-Mart) and open from 11am-11pm you can find wonderful fajitas, burritos, chimichangas, tacos, and so much more. I recommend the shrimp tacos with guacamole! El Palomar offers margaritas and other alcoholic beverages as well. You can never go wrong with Mexican food!

3. Watt Street Tavern

Watt Street Tavern is located at 115 Watt Street and offers a large array of beers and lagers from around the world, many specialty pizzas, sandwiches, steaks, salmon entrees, soups and salads, wraps, tacos, and many other things. 4. Deercreek Lodge

Deercreek Lodge offers many things, there they are home to one of our state parks, have beautiful overnight accommodations, Rafter’s Restaurant, Harding’s Lounge, Pro Golf Shop and Gift Shop; of course they have gift certificates available for all! You can start your evening off at Harding’s Lounge enjoying your favorite cocktail and then move onto Rafter’s Restaurant where you can enjoy a lovely meal overlooking the lake, and even wrap up the evening spending the night at the lodge… make a weekend of it! Rafter’s is open 7 days a week: Breakfast 7am-10:30am, Lunch 11am-2pm, and Dinner 5pm-8pm (9:00pm Friday/Saturday) and they offer a huge variety of food, absolutely something that everyone in the family will love! Jackie Ray’s located at 20 Cromley Street in Ashville is open Monday through Saturday 4pm to 10pm and offers a large variety of food such as tacos, burgers, salads, sandwiches, pastas, steaks, and more!
